Tigers and 49ers Come Through BIG

SB 54

Well it has been quite the week with our LSU Tigers running away from Clemson in the College Football Championship at odds of 40 to 1. A quick trip to Vegas to cash a fat ticket and I return just in time to watch the San Francisco 49ers clinch the NFC at odds of 5 to1 (see October 21 post). That leaves only one meaningful game left and we have action on that one too. We go into Super Bowl 54 with 400 units on the boys from the Bay area at odds of 10/1. I have no intention of hedging this ticket because after spending yesterday working on my Super Bowl numbers I am very confident that I am on a very live team with something to prove. All the media talk is about Chief’s QB Patrick Mahomes ll but I feel quite sure that Mr Bosa and company are going to show him a pass rush the likes of which he has never seen before. Either way it has been a fun and very profitable football season.

Well cashing is fun but laying down future wagers can also be a rush so I did a little of that during my annual January trip to Sin City as well. I am passing yet again on the NBA with my pick this year the Milwaukee Bucks available at the pathetic number of only +325 all over town. Both LA teams were +225 in most books. So that leaves March Madness as this year’s only round ball action. Below are my future wagers on this year’s college basketball championship:

  • 400 Units on Duke at 10/1
  • 400 Units on Kansas at 10/1
  • 400 Units on Baylor at 18/1
  • 200 Units on Gonzaga at 13/1

I believe this is one of the most wide open years in the past decade and there are fifteen or so teams who are capable of hoisting the trophy April 6th in Atlanta. My strategy here is to take the four I like most with coaches that have been at their respective schools for at least ten years and have the ability to improve their squads as we move closer to the Madness. Thanks for logging in and enjoy the Super Bowl.
