Bad Beats Are Part Of This Game

The NFL is broken but I do not believe the Commissioner or the team owners give a dam! They are making money hand over fist and that is all they care about. It was hard to watch yesterday’s two championship games when one bad non call cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl and some questionable officiating paved the way for the Pats to go back for the third straight year. I have a very interesting conspiracy theory but will avoid sounding like a sore loser (Losing tickets on Saints 9/1 and Chiefs 6/1 to win the Super Bowl) and accept yesterday’s games as yet another bad beat which is part of this game. I do however find the league’s recent “integrity fee” request from bookmakers and ultimately the betting public more than a little bit amusing in light of yesterday’s action. No matter if you are playing the futures or wagering on individual games you will never be successful until you learn to take these bad beats in stride. Enough negativity! Let’s move on to the NBA and the 2019 edition of March Madness which is right around the corner.

Last week I raced over to Vegas between storms to see my old friend George Wallace’s show at the Westgate and to make my NBA and March Madness future picks. Of course picking up my Clemson $$$$ was the highlight of the trip. If you are a regular visitor to this site you know that I have not played any NBA futures since catching the Warriors at 12/1 odds back in 2015. This year I have decided to get back in the NBA waters but only in the shallow part of the pool. I wagered 200 units on the Milwaukee Bucks to win this year’s Eastern Conference at odds of 9/2. They have some excellent stats and I feel they will contend in the East but I am not sure they are ready to take on the likes of Golden State or Houston coming out of the West.

March Madness is less than two months away and the odds around Vegas made shopping worthwhile. Here are my plays for this year’s championship:

  • 200 Units on Michigan State at 15/1 odds
  • 200 Units on Michigan at 10/1 odds
  • 200 Units on Tennessee at 12/1 odds
  • 400 Units on Virginia at 10/1 odds
  • 400 Units on Gonzaga at 8/1 odds

I know Duke is going to be tough to beat but these five squads have the best chance of doing so in this writer’s opinion. Thanks for logging in and go easy on the Super Bowl if you are still willing to wager on the Integrity League.
