Nats Are In and Dodgers????

My two National League futures plays made back on May 6th are still alive today but the Dodgers are hanging on by a slim thread of hope. They need to win out and have the Cardinals lose their two remaining games and THEN beat the Cards in a playoff game on Thursday afternoon in Dodger Stadium. I personally believe there is as much a chance of that happening as there is of Frank and Jamie McCourt reconciling. I wagered both teams at 7 to 1 to win the NL pennant and I have tickets on the Nats (25/1) and the Dodgers (10/1) to win the World Series. Now I am happy to have the surprising Nationals in the playoffs as a Division winner but I am more than a little peeved with their decision to scratch their best pitcher from the playoff roster. Commissioner Bud Selig is always preaching about the “integrity” of the grand old game so why doesn’t he step in here and ask some serious questions of the player, the player’s agent and Washington team officials? What about the fans that have paid their hard earned money all summer long watching their over achieving team fight to reach the playoffs? I believe the Nats still might have enough to win a championship but I think it is a bad omen entering the playoffs on a negative note.
