Louisville and Texas Tech are Wiz’s 2019 CWS Picks

Vanderbilt and Arkansas are deserving favorites for the 2019 edition of the College World Series. They are both at 3/1 odds on www.vegasinsider.com but if you are a regular to this site you very well know betting the favorites in the futures is a bad idea. I also almost always insist on getting at least 5/1 odds which also eliminates Mississippi State at 7/2. I love the CWS but have not yet put it on my “shopping trips” to Vegas list. These players are very young and one small mistake can make or break a champion. Just ask last year’s Razorback team if that is true.  They were on the verge of defeating Oregon State when the roof collapsed on a failed catch of a pop up. Below are the current odds of all eight teams:

• Arkansas               3/1
• Vanderbilt             3/1
• Mississippi State   7/2
• Louisville                8/1
• Texas Tech             8/1
• Auburn                  10/1
• Florida State         10/1
• Michigan                15/1

I like to pick a team in each bracket and this year my two picks are Texas Tech and Louisville both at odds of 8/1. If I were in Vegas I think I would also put a little something on Michigan (15/1) the longest shot on the board. I was impressed how they hung in there last weekend against UCLA the nation’s number one team. If you are playing these teams go lightly because my picks are based on a much smaller sampling than the other sports I cover on this site.
