One of the problems with playing the futures on NCAA Basketball is that come Selection Sunday you could end up with all your plays being put into the same region. This year I feel that other than the Midwest Region I came away in good shape with “live” teams in three of the four regional sites. Below are the tickets I own by region:

Midwest Region

  • Louisville 100 Units at 8/1 Odds
  • Duke 100 Units at 5/1 Odds
  • Michigan State 50 Units at 12/1 Odds

South Region

  • Florida 200 Units at 5/1 Odds
  • VCU 50 Units at 100/1 Odds

East Region

  • Miami, Florida 50 Units at 9/1 Odds (Part of Field)

West Region

  • No Plays

The ticket on Miami also includes the field which came as a pleasant surprise to me when I placed the wager at a William Hill Sportsbook back in early February. How can a team who won both the regular ACC and ACC Tourney be part of the field? They have since posted the Canes at 8 to 1 separate from the field. So there you have my futures plays for the 2013 edition of March Madness. All in all I like my position having the tourney favorite (Loiusville) at 8 to 1 and I believe Florida although only a #3 seed is one of the best teams in the country. Good luck to everyone and enjoy the MADNESS!!
