Nova Comes Through At 6 to 1 Odds
0Well we hit on our March Madness futures for the third year in a row and on the Villanova Wildcats for the second time in three years. I invested 500 units back in January on the teams listed below (see January post):
- Virginia 50 units at 40/1
- West Virginia 50 units at 32/1
- Texas Tech 50 units at 50/1
- Purdue 50 units at 30/1
- Michigan State 100 units at 4/1
- Nova 200 units at 6/1
The tourney did not start well for us with four of our six picks drawing into the same region and eliminating each other with the Wildcats emerging as the only survivor. More “bad luck” when UMBC upset our 40/1 shot Virginia in the first round. Then came the tourney ending injury to Purdue’s giant center Haas. Things did not look favorable when Michigan State also lost and we only had Nova standing tall going into the Final Four Saturday. They came thru with flying colors winning both their final two games by double digits. ROI was 1,400 units on our 500 unit investment for a profit of 900 units. I appreciate the congratulatory emails and now it is on to the MLB futures. I will be going over to Sin City for my annual spring “shopping trip” on May 1st and I promise to have my baseball plays posted by Cinco de Mayo. Meanwhile thanks for checking in and good luck if you are betting the games.
