Why Don’t They Tell Us What The Horses Weigh?
0As I sit and watch the preliminary races leading up to this year’s 139thh edition of the Kentucky Derby I ask the same question I do every year: Why don’t they tell us what the horses weigh? Three year old horses have their biggest growth spurt during this part of their lives. Why are we not given access to this information? Just further proof that horse racing is an insider’s game. A game I have decided is not worthy of any part of my bankroll. Instead I choose to play the futures in sports and below are my picks this year for Major League Baseball:
To Win the National League Pennant
- 200 units on the Braves at 4/1 Odds
- 50 units on the Cardinals at 8/1 Odds
- 50 units on the Rockies at 30/1 Odds
To Win the American League Pennant
- 200 units on the Red Sox at 8.5/1 Odds
- 100 units on the Rangers at 8/1 Odds
To Win the World Series
- 100 units on the Red Sox at 17/1 Odds
This 700 unit investment will keep me interested for the next six months which is a whole lot better than wagering on those four legged nags in Kentucky and running the risk of watching your bankroll disappear in under 2 minutes. OK if you insist I look into my KD crystal ball and I see an “O” horse winning but don’t bet on it!! Good Luck everyone!!
