NBA Playoffs Very Predictable and Boring!

As the REAL NBA SEASON draws near there is very little for this handicapper to get excited about other than he only invested 200 units of his 500 unit bankroll. The NBA where star players all gather on a handful of major market teams has become the biggest bore in professional sports and also the worst wagering opportunity for those of us who choose to invest in the futures market. Does anyone out there really believe Brooklyn, Golden State, Houston or Milwaukee has any real chance to play deep into the playoffs let alone make the finals? If they do they will be only the fifth team in NBA history to do so. Why? Well all four squads missed the playoffs last year and three of them (Warriors, Nets and Bucks) had losing records. My stats show that most champions (30/34-89%) are in the top four league point differentials which means this year OKC 1.10, Miami 1.09, LA Clippers 1.07 and San Antonio 1.07 are the REAL contenders. In the past twenty eight seasons the eventual champion has had an average point differential of 1.08 which means most likely we are headed for a rematch of last year’s boring final OKC (1.10) versus Miami (1.09). 51 of the last 65 Champs (79%) had either the best or second best regular season which points to the same two squads. The last sixteen times #1 has met #2 in the Finals #1 has won 13 times or 81% of the time. While I have not torn up my 100 unit tickets on the Bulls (18 to 1) or the Spurs at (7 to 1) I have accepted the inevitable that Derrick Rose is still waiting for GOD to tell him when to play and the Spurs are too old and too banged up to make a serious run. I hope I am wrong but I don’t think I am. Either way I can take solace in the fact that I only wasted 200 units on David Stern’s oh so predictable and noncompetitve National Basketball Association.
